Plush Dolls and Math...

For the past month Mrs. Hein's 5th grade class has been creating mini-plush creations. They discussed how designers (whether for clothes, backpacks, or stuffed animals) all have to create a pattern for what it is they wish to create. They designed, measured, cut, sewed and stuffed....and at each step the class was learning how to estimate length (size of plush material, thread and inseams), volume (of stuffing) and more. They created some truly great plushes.  See their pictures below.
